Getting started

Open Shabdakalpa — there is no sign-up. A sample chapter is waiting; click anywhere and start typing.

Type Bengali your way

Type the sounds in English letters: amar becomes আমার. A popup suggests full words — press Tab to accept. Ctrl+M switches to English typing and back.

Everything saves itself

Your words save on your own device a moment after you type them — watch the “Saved on this device” dot in the top bar. The app works with no internet at all, and you can install it from your browser's menu like any app.

Find your way

The left rail holds your chapters, the story bible, the dictionary (Ctrl+K) and version history. The ⋯ menu has import, export, footnotes and sharing.
